He is, isn't he? Its the first time I've ever seen a live one - including zoo. Seen several on Nature shows and stuffed ones in museums. It was such a treat!

How far north are you? I am so glad you got to this this beauty. I use to see hawks all the time growing up back wast. Now it is a treat to see my local hawk. It is not a red tail, it is a red shoulder hawk, but I love to see them soar. I even watch a hawk web cam and follow palemale from NYC.

Seeing him was certainly a treat. I see all kind of hawks and we have a pair of Bald Eagles that are frequent visitors (I often see them soaring over my street from my sewing room window!) - but never a snowy owl before and I would have never have thought I'd see one atop a grocery store!
