Want to brag a bit about our wonderful daughter Dana and her team of Year 6 teachers at her Primary School. Last night was the Year 6 farewell and a few tears were shed.

Today all over Australia school children (not in Private schools who have finished school already) finish school for the year. They all go back at the end of January so 6 weeks of Summer school holidays.
I wanted to share this post from our elder daughter- Dana is an exceptional Teacher!!!

“Warning: Soppy post here....
I just got home from our wonderful VPS Year 6 farewell. I am SO proud of all ‘my kids’ but even more proud of the Year 6 team I’ve been a part of this year. I definitely could not have done this job without these 4 amazing people... Casey, Daniel, Anthony and Sarah. Teaching really is a profession that demands so much of your time and effort for other people’s children. I am truly lucky to say that I absolutely and whole-heartedly LOVE my job and it truly is the people I get to work with every day who make it even more amazing!

I would especially like to thank my husband Jason for always being there for me and supporting me even when work impacts on our own family or when he disagrees with the workload and the extra stuff I do!

Also an extra special mention to my mum Christine and Mother in law Evelyn who help with our kids, the ironing, the house cleaning and after school sports every week and I’m so grateful for them both.

Work tends to impact heavily on all families and if you are a teacher or even married to a teacher, I’m sure you would agree. It can get tough at times, but it’s nights like these that make it all worthwhile!”

I just have to add and her “school kids” love her. One very proud Mum this end.

Merry Christmas to you all and I pray that 2019 slows down a bit, but not that slow that we can't get lots of sewing in!

I was only saying to Sue Dewsbury today that this year has been the fastest of my life! Love Chris

"Well you know how much I LOVE you and Jason and our gorgeous grandchildren.
Dad and I are so proud of you and your family.
I know how much time and effort you put into your “other “ kids.
It simply amazes me and I, like Jason, am married to a dedicated teacher.
Without people like you and Dad (Trev) who put their heart and soul into teaching so many children would miss out on so much.
We are also so proud of how your students look up to you.
You know teachers can alter lives. Keep up the excellent work darling - you are one of those exceptional teachers! Love you always Mum ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Always say teachers are the cornerstone of our world. A good teacher will determine so many lives, minds and hearts. Congratulations to her and the family unit who helf her get it right.

Teachers are some unsung heroes to be sure...it takes a special person to be a really good teacher. I can tell that Dana is one of those and I have never met her...congratulations to you and Trev as well for raising such loving, talented and compassionate children!

Give Dana a shout out and a hug from me! I congratulate her and her team for teaching our future 'adults'. Children will always remember their teachers. So happy she enjoys her job so well and Jason and you all support her. Merry Christmas and I hope you all can slow down and enjoy the holidays.

I can certainly identify with you in this Chris since I have 4 teachers in my family. Proud I am of anyone who cares enough to educate our children

My mother was a teacher as was her brother and her mother. I missed those wonderful genes. I say that teachers have THE most important jobs that there are. Without them there would be no other learned professions. I think when teachers get to heaven everyone should move over to let them come through to the front of the line, pull up fluffy clouds to sit them on and prop up their feet. They should get eternal foot massages and everyone should bring them the best food and drinks and give them hugs for loving on our children so well.

Yep, I do it every week. I get paid for it as Dana doesn't have time working the long hours she does. And they both wear cotton, jeans, t-shirts and dresses etc. I love ironing, so I don't mind. I have Trevor's business shirts every day and my clothes have a lot of cotton too! Love Chris

so lovely Chris. Is Dana going to a different school next year? Or perhaps is was a farewell to the students? grade 7 is part of Senior School in NSW isn't it? The SA Gov are planning to introduce this here soon, I think. Though it is not really an issue here in our EP schools as [apart from PtLincoln] they are all 'Area' schools, going from Reception to year 12 [in most cases]

This was just her Year 6 farewell for the kids. They all go onto Year 7 which is the beginning of their High School schooling. We have 7,8,9,10 (when some leave), then 11 and 12 the final 2 years of schooling.
Yes, I remember schooling in Adelaide - we went to grade 7 then on to high school for 8,9,10,11 and12. It's still roughly 13 years of schooling.
Dana is not leaving her school, she will be there for a long time. She loves teaching Year 6. Love Chris

Have a lovely day with family. We have our Christmas Service on Christmas Eve this year. I hope some make an effort to get there, our church is close to closing I think. Xx
