Good morning/evening Cuties.
I wanted to show you my Celtic Coasters (from Kreative Kiwi a New Zealand embroidery company). These are made in the 5x7 hoop and only have about 10,000 stitches. They are made in the hoop and I've done mine with the pattern on the back as well. I've just used plain 'fairy floss' white on one side and plain red cotton on the other side. They are made on 2 layers of Water soluble solvy (the mesh type) and have Pellon on the inside for some cushioning. They turn out about 5 inches by 6 inches finished.
I've just been "talking" with sewdeb and explaining how dang hot it is down here in New South Wales at the moment. The State of Victoria has had a total fire ban.
Up here in NSW it's almost as bad. I've got the air con on in my sewing room and try and do some sewing early in the morning. I've got 2 of these done, so a few to go. Hope everyone is keeping cool/warm depending on where you live.
Trev and I went out last night to our favourite theatre/restaurant to have dinner and see a Beach boys tribute band. I'm a mad fan of the Beach boys - even have Good Vibrations on my phone as the ringtone!! It was so hot in there as the air conditioners couldn't cope! It was the most uncomfortable evening I can ever remember and when we got home about 11.30 the house was like an oven!
Luckily for me Trev bought me a portable air conditioner in November and I've got it set upstairs in my bedroom and I actually had it on all night as it was still 29C at midnight! I slept very soundly! When I woke at 5.30 it was still 25C! We're in for another week of it and then we're off to Adelaide (South Australia) where it's not much better. I don't like hot!!! Love Chris
Thank you for commenting. Love Chris
P.S. IT'S IN THE INBOX T
Oh yeah!! I'm another Beach Boys fan! Seems like there are still a lot of us!
I'm an ABBA and Beatles fan!

Think cool thoughts, sit in a darkened room, drink in hand and pop in a "snow themed" movie like "Cool Runnings", "Frozen" if the granddaughters haven't worn out the DVD :-) or "8 Below"
Or maybe consider setting up lawn chairs in the frozen food section of your local market. Hey, there were times, before we had an air conditioner, when this idea was VERY appealing! LOL
