Hello Cuties, I seem to always be just fluttering in and out lately, but I wanted to share with you what I found today. I went with hubby to town (town is always 20 miles or more in any direction) so while there I asked if he minded if I just 'ran in' the Thrift Shop.

I found this Piece in the Hoop book by Larisa Bland with a DVD hosted by Nancy Zieman with 40 embroidery designs on the dvd!
Not only was the find amazing, the price was too. I got these 4 books and about 16 yards of knit fabric (8 yds each color) for, are you ready?-lol- $3.25 !!! The books were a quarter each even the one with the emb designs!
Look at the 'price' US $32.99 or Canada $37.99 on this one. The Guide to Machine Quilting was $24.99, the Gooseberry Patch book was $20 and the Simplicity was also $20 marked down to $10. Sorry I can't show the fabric as it's in the wash. I really didn't need or want that much but they wouldn't cut it and only asked a dollar each. How many little baby boy neck kerchief bibs do you think 16 yds will make!!!
Well, I hope you enjoyed this post and my find. I just had to share with all my friends! Have a great day-Toogie

Fun! I have the Piece in the hoop book, but haven't done anything out of it yet. Maybe you'll inspire me :)

I'll bet you paid more than a quarter too!

Sure did. But it was a gently used book from Amazon

Great buy...I bought that Piece in the Hoop book several years ago. May have to break it back out and look at it again. But, things have to wait. We moved into our new home, and my sewing room is all over the place in totes stacked 3 and 4 deep and high. LOL

Oh, and I have been sharing a lot of my overage with the local Hospice resale shop. As I go through my things, I am donating a lot of the duplicate things that I have.

Good for you! I wish I could visit the resale shop or help you sort!πŸ˜‰I wish you the best in your new house. Is it in the same place or another state?
by dlonnahawkins 08 Feb 2019
We actually moved only about 5 miles from where we were. Then daughter liked the area, and just moved in down the street from us. But, we downsized in the land. Husband just could not keep up the acreage that we had, so only have 1/3 acre, but on a lake. House is actually a little bigger, but it took it to have room for all the junk we had, and we have given several truckloads of furniture and things to Hospice and the children's home not too far down from us....they also have a resale shop.

It's nice to have your daughter so close, I know. While not just 'down the street' all of our three are no further than 5 miles at the most.

It will be awhile before I use these designs. I have baby things to make before Saturday after next. I need to border the queen quilt I'm on and make 2 panel throw size quilts.

Oh goodness sometimes I feel like I'm chasing my tail , like a dog does. πŸ˜‰ now if I just didn't have to feed and water my husband ( cook I mean😳) I'd have more time to sew, embroidery, and quilt!!!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

What a wonderful find.. Nancy Zieman , has always been a fave. I have several of her sewing books but none of the quilting ones. Always watched her tv shows. Still do. Sorry she passed away.

I like watching her shows too when I find them airing. She explained everything so well. She is missed for sure.

Yes, it was. One day while I was there, someone was holding a pretty quilt. I thought if she lays it down, it's mine!-lol-she didn't, of course, and it wasn't priced much either.

Wow, where do you find such awesome goodies? I work at our local Op Shop every month, but we never have things that cheap. Well done and I wait with baited breath to see what you will do with all that fabric. Once you have finished all the other things of course!!!!!!!!!!! Love Chris
