It is so good to be back. I have really missed you all. Trying to catch up on all that has been happening. I have not been well since before Christmas. Surgery the beginning of Feb. Still recovering and not much energy yet. Lots going on with the children we are raising. The oldest (he is 11) has been talking of running away and also of harming himself. So lots of appointments with psychiatrist and counseling. Both kids have been in counseling for several years. We are not sure what set this episode off. We are hopeful that the news we received yesterday will help improve both of their outlooks. Their mother called yesterday to let us know that she has gotten parole and will be released the end of May. Happy dances all around. Her situation was a tragedy in the making. Her then husband decided to take her and the kids along with 2 of his cronies on a ride half way across the state to commit an armed robbery. She and the kids were his "alibi." Because she did not drive off while he was in the house, they arrested her as well. We later found out that he had been abusive to her and the kids and some broken bones we thought were accidents, were actually caused by him. He had also threatened to kill her or her family if she ever left. This may sound strange, but we are actually glad that he committed this crime.( not for his victims, I would not wish that on anyone). but because he got caught and thus is no longer hurting anyone. With both of them in prison, his hold on her has broken and she has become the wonderful young woman she used to be. God surely works in mysterious ways. It has been a difficult 5 years but so much good has come out of it. Thank you for listening.
