I was just wondering if you others, when you are sewing, are constantly thinking. I go over and over thinking about so many things, more then than any other time. Do you do this too?

When I garden it is a wonderfully relaxing time and leads me into prayer. I hope I will reach this point with the embroidery, too, where my mind pushes away other thoughts.

I do also. But I love to sit and watch my machines stitch away while I talk with God. I find it so relaxing. I guess my sewing room is my happy place because I get to create and to talk with my Creator.

I cannot turn my brain off and relax either. I run 'what ifs' through my mind constantly. I also go over and over things way too much. Sleeping is very difficult as my mind just keeps going. A couple times a week I will crash and sleep several hours. I love my sewing/embroidery so much. It gives me much enjoyment. I am amazed at how fabulous machine embroidery is. Hugs and Blessings, Barba

I live the same life, my mind is thinking about sewing, quilting, etc for the next day and can't sleep. While I am sewing I do relax and do like Karen. My thoughts of others and often prayers are done while sewing.

Yes while my machine stitches out blocks my mind races around how I'm putting them into a quilt so I sit there and doodle a possible pattern..
No 2 quilts are the same. So your definitely not alone in this.. Marian
