My mom is fantastic. My dad has been disabled for most of my life, and my mom has been his caretaker the whole time. She put her own interests and needs on the back burner and I've never heard her be bitter about it. Now that my own husband is disabled, her courage and bravery take on a whole new meaning. I know my days with her are fewer all the time, so I try to make the best of them.

Thank you. She will say thank you and I'll say that she's welcome and that will be the end of that conversation. But it will hang in her kitchen and she will show all who visit. That's just her way.
