Laying the squares out on the Pellon iron on grid, makes it so much easier, than trying to match all those seams. It's really fun. Thanks for looking.

Thank you mops for your encouragement. It's a great group of ladies so I know they will go easy on me. Still, I hope I make myself understood. I have been jotting down instructions, going over the steps in my mind (now that's a place you don't want to go-lol). For an option, things I do differently, for instance. My way may not be their way, so if they have a way that's working for them, go for it, I say....I'll let you know if I get threw out!

We had a good time with the two that brought their supplies-lol-so it was more of a personal assistant instruction, which was okay with me!-lol The others had been notified of Becky having to postpone and some didn't get their stabilizer, as Becky was providing that.
All in all, we all laughed and had a good time. One lady even told me I was crazy (international Cuties that's wasn't meant in an ugly way, she's joking) but I told her she wasn't the first person to tell me that!
When one of the ladies, RoAnn, was putting her panels with the squares together she could never figure out the diagram. I told her you sew an end (say piece 2) to the bottom right side of piece 1. Then you sew the end of pc3 to the top left side of pc 4. Then sew unit 1&2 to unit 3&4 to make bag bottom. At this time you can now sew your sides up. She did the first two steps correct but when she sewed the units together she off set and continued to sew a side seam. When she showed me, I could not figure what in the world she had done. Her colors was gorgeous golds and burgundies, so it was hard to figure out just where to rip or unpick. I and another lady Lidia ripped what needed to come apart so RoAnn could begin again. She did everything else fine EXCEPT she forgot to leave an opening in her lining to turn right side out. She jokingly blamed her 'teacher' and I told her she couldn't read as I had provided a diagram (my drawing) and instructions!! So see how much fun we had!-- lol
It did make up to be a beautiful bag and she even used the blocks on the topside of her handles.

Forgot to ask are the squares 2 and half?

We don't live close to ANY shops upholstery or fabric for that matter, but my sister who lives in another state, just bought me Pellon at $1 yard. She bought around 25 yards, I think.

You could have left it as 'wish we lived closer'. Wouldn't it be fun to be neighbors! I am sure it's the other way around, I could learn from you. Love you dear lady....We are literally awaiting the arrival of Kinley, our first great-grand daughter. Mom and dad are in the hospital as I type. We were blessed with our 2nd great-grandson Dawson 2 weeks ago. Family is growing fast!
