Been busy sewing out my first square of an Urban Zundt Table Topper design. I was booked into a class a few weeks ago but couldn't attend due to other family commitments. So I picked the set up yesterday afternoon and couldn't wait to start. It takes 1 and a half hours to sew out but I had a lot of thread breakages, so it was closer to 2 and a half hours!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyway, it's going to be gorgeous once it's all put together. It was made in my 230x250 hoop. Love Chris
DAY 2!! What an idiot I am, I didn't leave a 1/4 inch seam on the edges of the first one, so I've done the second one and attached it down the centre. Now on to number 3 and I must remember not to cut the excess off too soon!!!!!!!!! Pays to read the instructions, doesn't it?
Just finished the third block. Finished for the day now though and I'll do the last one tomorrow.

This was a special class held here in Newcastle, Australia. I believe it was made just for the class, but don't quote me on that! The class CD was included in the cost along with all of the fabric, parlan and tilda fix lite. It was an expensive day love Chris

Makes me want to move to Australia just so I can see this in person! This is a superb block with so much detail and variation. Why do you think you had so many thread breaks? I think that unusual for you.

Well, it's been very humid here and I don't think my sewing machine likes it. I persevered though as the colour of thread I used were from my own stash of threads. I changed needles a couple of times too just to make sure and then in the end I slowed my machine down to 350 stitches. I have 3 sets of speed, 350, 600 and 1000!!! Love Chris

Thanks Mary, I wish I could have attended the special class. I love Urban Zundt's designs and Sally (the owner of the ZigZag sewing shop is a fabulous lady). She often has special classes of overseas guest Embroiderers and I enrol in them all if able. The shop is only about a 20 minute drive from my home. Love Chris

Try as I might I couldn't get all the points absolutely perfectly aligned. There are so many thicknesses in this project which makes it really stiff, but it will still be a lovely table topper when I finish it off. Love Chris.
Lovely, Chris...are you adding any borders? What color binding and what is the finished size?
There will only be blue binding like that backing fabric it's sitting on in the picture. The finished size is only about 19 inches. It's just going to sit on a little table of mine in the loungeroom. Love Chris
