Swimming Bag

Last item for my son to take back to grand daughter.

She will be taking swimming lessons at school in the near future and I got this remnant ages ago and thought I would try to make one.

I used the free pattern I got from Kreative Kiwi for the bag. Then made a name badge applique with her name and the swimming girl. ( which I love) I used a mug rug blank for the outline.

The fabric is very unusual the print goes right through and is Satin feel on one side and plain on the other. You could use it either way. Not sure what you would call this fabric as it was hard to sew until I found the right size needle a number 9. also it frays like made but the overlocker ( serger) fixed that. Almost feels like some drink cozies but not rubbery.

Not sure about the yellow cord if it might be too stiff will see what son says when he is here. I was just determined to use just what was in the sewing room.

Getting older and the stash doesn't seem to be getting any smaller.

Update wasn't happy with the yellow cord so got some Turquoise and put pink stoppers on the ends. It is so much softer now.
Thanks for looking.

This is a darling bag. If I were to get ambitious my 2 little great-granddaughters would like this for when they go to Florida on vacation. Such a great job you've done.
