I'm want to make some pencil toppers and have a few designs from different digitizers. I might be confused, but it seems to me that the stabilizer inside the topper is not removed in most of the directions. But I can't figure out what prevents the pencil from being inserted in the topper without getting caught in the stabilizer part inside it. This is a little confusing to explain.
So, I guess I'm asking if you need to remove that extra stabilizer inside the topper.

I have not made any pencil toppers, but it would make sense to remove it. Many in the hoop project do not specify to remove the stabilizer. I can imagine that it might be difficult to get at. I guess I would use a tearaway and use a tweezer to remove it. Another way could be to use felt (may be to do 2 design in a 4x4 hoope). Felt would not require stabilizer.

I have made a bunch of pencil toppers. I never remove the stabilizer. If anything - I find the stabilizer tends to "stabilize" it - I know, I know that sound silly - but, it gives the holder part some extra thickness. Hope this makes sense!! Hugs, Laura

Yes! That makes sense and is the reason why I hesitate to remove it or even use it.

I have made pencil toppers i left the tearaway inside,its too difficult to remove

I was thinking the same thing too. Maybe I'll just double the felt and skip the stabilizer.
