Rainbow Lorikeets are very common in Melbourne suburbs gardens and parks. Taking a picture of this guarded nest was a privilege.

My next door neighbour has a Bottle Brush Tree in full flower at the moment on her footpath. I couldn't count the amount of Rainbow Lorikeets on it when I drove in just now. They are just beautiful.
You are lucky to see the nest.

How did you manage to get close enough for such a great picture? They are beautiful. Hugs.

Actually the nest was 6 meters up from the ground, the camera was an Olympus fitted with a good zoom lens.

Awesome picture. Beautiful bird. What kind of tree is this?

The tree is an old eucalyptus.
