Is anyone using bobbin thread as micro embroidery thread. I need to do small lettering and am do not want to purchase bobbin thread unless I know it will work and has the same luster as embroidery thread. Thanks

Floriani makes a 60wt Micro thread and I use it in both top and bottom for intricate work...sometimes, depending upon the weight of the fabric, I go down needle size...If you use a auto-needle threader, make sure you check the tolerances for needle size so you don't break your needle threader... Ask me how I know!
I also have a 100wt bobbin thread I use with 60wt top embroidery thread for really intricate heirloom small designs...especially text.

Thank you. I think that brand is at the closest sewing machine shop. I will call tomorrow and see if they carry it.

Bobbin thread will work just fine. It is actually the same weight as the thread Floriani or Sulky makes for this type of tiny stitching. Hugs. Nan
