A few weeks ago I posted that my eldest grandsons cat had a broken back leg and a cracked pelvis. Following a expensive operation where a few bits of metal were inserted into his leg, he was fine and we were told to keep him in a cage for 10 weeks.

So today after ten weeks in a cage we took him back to the specialist vet to be checked over. My daughter and I set off too early to drop the boys in school for his appointment. Merlin - the cat was given a full going over and the vet asked us to return in a further 8 weeks when the plates/pins would be removed. We were also told that the cat could be allowed to go outside again under supervision. Has anyone ever tried to supervise a cat in a garden?
Both my self and son in law said that after a long car journey, having a anaesthetic etc. not to let the cat out. My daughter knew better and yes the cat took off over the hedge into the field below... and refused to return home when called.
Daughter and I ended up driving down the road to the bottom of the field. She then walked up the field while I sat in the car at the bottom of the hill waiting.
Well this saga ends well, she found Merlin and after calling he popped out of the bushes and she picked him up and stuffed him into the cat basket, climbed the hedge and took him back in the house. Merlin is back to staying inside. After spending a arm and a leg on Merlin we don't want him to come to any more harm. Plus Twm would be very sad to loose his lovely cat.
