Hi Cuties, I've had fun this past week in between babysitting the kids and Mum. I made a great crazy patchwork handbag from Sweetpea, but I added a couple of hidden zippered sections. The fabric I used is all from my stash, but it would look equally as good with just a plain fabric as the designs would show up better.
1. You can see the zipper on the left hand side of the bag. I also lined the front left hand side and the rest of the front in a black and gold pinspot fabric. I did the same on the back of the bag and then the whole bag was lined in plain black. I also put in a zippered pocket in the plain black lining to keep my keys in. I don't have any bag hardware knick-knacks, but I'd love to get some and maybe a magnet for a closure. I'll have a look around for some.
2. A better shot up against a white sheet to show the length of the handles. I used Bosal in the handles and the base of the bag to give it more stability.
3. Close up of the black and gold pinspot fabric I lined the side and central panels with.
4. Picture of the Bosal r form double sided fusible. I used a single sided iron on one. Love Chris

I am using a bag my daughter bought me right now. I just told my husband I need to make me a new bag, because you would think the bought one should have lasted longer. I just haven't decided on a style. I like the look of a tote, but I prefer a one handle bag. My shoulders are narrow, or sloped, or not great for two straps. I can't seem to keep the two straps up when I put on my shoulder, to free up my hands.
Yours is lovely!
Lynette
I will not call it a crazy patchwork but "Fantasy in Black and White"!
