I read somewhere that it is not advisable to use T-shirt material for face masks - something to do with the fact that there are too many tiny holes where the virus can get thru! Please don't shoot me down as it is only what I read on another Group BUT it made sense to me at the time! They said ONLY 100% cotton!x

I have seen both views on t-shirt fabric. One site said t shirt and batiks were the best fabrics to use and another site said not to use t-shirt fabric.. Who knows?

There is so much info out there on making face masks that it's mind boggling and much of the info contradicts the other. It's enough to drive a person crazy. I think that many masks like this one are not highly effective, but might be better than nothing as long as people realize they are not getting top notch protection. Plus, if it fits well and one has a good filter to insert, then the protection provided by the material (t-shirt) itself is probably not a big deal. It does look quite intriguing.
