I've made 186 masks between friends, family and hospitals while I'm still on leave for Covid19 high risk. I'm still sewing. I treat it like a job, I get up and have breakfast, exercise, then start working (sewing). If I take a break it might start feeling like a vacation. It's warm in California today so it really feels like bike ride weather. As of yesterday everybody has to wear a mask when out in public. My stash is holding up well. I did order and receive muslin to make my ties from JoAnn's. I also ordered and received cut-away stabilizer. Orders for solid cotton fabrics get cancelled after ordering so I need to find that somewhere else if I run out. Hope you are all staying safe busy : )

Have made a bit over 50 for family, friends, physician office and federal office......ready to move on to another sewing project. The weather here has been a bit cold and more rainy than nice. Take care and hope you can keep your supplies in stock to keep making those masks. Thank you for what you are doing.

I made 100 masks before the puppy arrived. That slowed down my productivity considerable. 30 done since and some more to do. I am sewing for a church and the supplies are provided. makes for interesting sewing.

Oh my! Wait until I tell my friend! She has made a considerable amount but I don't think this many!!! What are you using for your nose piece? I have tried chenille wire doubled and twisted on itself and also tried soda can for a piece.....

My favorite nose wire is 22 gauge coated floral wire, also called paddle wire. My second choice is a coated paper clip that I unfold. I have 2 paper clip sizes at home and one was too thick and strong to bend easily so you have to experiment. I curl the ends into a circle so they won’t poke out. I experimented with the wires for rusting by letting them sit in water. The uncoated ends rusted after a couple of days but if I wash and dry immediately they’re fine. I also tried coated wire twist ties, they need 2 ties to be strong enough and they didn’t rust at all. I also tried uncoated paddle wire which took 5 days to rust sitting in the water. Galvanized metal won’t rust but I don’t have any of that.
I use 5 inches of wire and curl the ends in a circle with a needle nose plier. I also made the wire removable by leaving an opening in the casing.
I did that too, so you could remove the wire, for washing. Thanks I wish I had floral wire.
Someone said the floral wire looks just like the coated gardening wire. Maybe you have that?

That is awesome. I though I was doing good at around 100. My DH's work has put out a request for masks for when they start going back to work. Keep plugging away at them and stay safe!
