Years ago I had a little gadget that was a wheel with spikes to use to make marks on fabric. Don't recall the name for it, but I haven't seen it in stores. Does anyone know if they are still around?

Just thought of where to find. There are three styles.

I called it a tracing wheel. Try estate sales, Goodwill, or yard sales.

I still own some. Haven't sewn any clothing for years but still have the gadget I used in those days.

I googled it and in the USA you can purchase them at Wallmart, Joanns and Amazon.
Now that I know what they are called I can buy one! Thanks!

Yikes! They used to make things to last forever. I don't know what I did with mine.

I have also had one for years. Used to use it with coloured paper, like a carbon paper for marking dress patterns.

I have 2 if we are talking of the same thing--it holds chalk and has a little toothed gear that rolls and marks things. I usually use white chalk or blue---the blue I will say doesn't come out of fabric as well as white but then again I don't launder tote bags and things like that I quilt a lot. I think they are made by 'Clover' or 'Dritz' company.I do have the old tracing wheels we used to use with tracing colored paper for garment making.
