Wow that was a lot of work. I still like it as a table runner like on picture 5. I think if you were to add a small dark border it would frame it a bit more. I love the flow of the pattern. If you were to use it as a table runner I would not use any batting but another piece of material maybe with applique on it, to make it reversible.

Beautiful Toogie. My table is long too, but I have 2 of the leaves out. LOL And I, too, think a table runner. I remember doing something similar a long time ago with my youngest granddaughter. Not the bargello type, but sewing strips and making a tube and cutting. It was something she did for scouts when she was about 6 or 7, and she did a small around the world quilt. Good memories.

I added this to show sewdeb a smaller one. I use it on back of my loveseat so the sun doesn’t fade my loveseat. I made the same mistake on both. I forget to take one of the middle rows out, from the green holly in center across to the other green holly shouldn’t be in there. Same thing for my long runner. The white with navy stripe row should have been omitted. If I keep making them I might finally get one right!😂🤣

Hi there I am mostly a lurker .... what a fabulous job you have done as well as teaching yourself you do some amazing work do you ever sleep ? Do you have any good sites { for a beginner} that you would recommend to read up on this. i am dabbling at the moment but not to sure what I am doing its hard by yourself with no one to ask questions to . I belong to a very small group of embroiderers and feel like i need something to get the grey matter going after lock down . Unfortunately we dont have access to the fabric stores here that you have . To have it couriered or posted is astronomical even from Australia . We do have 2 stores from Australia here Spotlight and Lyncraft but we seem to get the left overs I feel . It is Winter here in New Zealand and today it is 7 degrees and is a good day to stay inside and read .

Oh my goodness! This is unbelieveable! Laying everything out is a good way to make sure you have everything in the right order. With my luck, the puppy would grab all the ends and run off with them. I admire your precision in stitching everything so perfectly. I ususally end up with "good enough" but my goal is to be able to do what you do so well. Thanks for the pictures about how you did it. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.

for pennyhal2-As you can see in this pic I do label each strip in order that they go. I don't trust that they will stay on the ironing board. # 10, 11. 12 are all cut 1 inch and already sewn together. That is the center. @9 and 13 are the red check ends and they are cut 1 1/4 inch so you start pretty small.
