THANK YOU EVERYONE for thoughts and prayers for Sammi......He seems better today, got him sub Q'd this AM and insulin on board and a good brushing and now he is happy....
UPDATE: Sam was severely dehydrated, even though he drinks a ton of water, also he has an infection somewhere, he got his antibiotic shot, 100 mils of sub Q fluids and we are having him tested for acromegaly. This is suspected in insulin resistance cats. It is a tumor on his pituitary and if that is the case, prognosis sucks.....it will take 5-15 days to get results as it has to go to a special lab, so his peeing episode this morning mounted another $600 bill....ugh! As long as he is not suffering, he is worth it. Since bringing him home not one accident. We have to sub Q him every day for 7 days oh and his insulin is raised to 4.0 units. Keep the prayers coming!!! I am a bawling mess, cuties!! Woke up to Sammi not being able to control his bladder....pee'd all over the house.....Andi got ahold of his doctor and he is at the clinic now getting assessed.....the doc is looking for Diabetic Ketoacidosis (spelling is wrong) due to the fact we are having such a hard time getting his sugar down. I fashioned a diaper out of a puppy pad until we could take him in. She is also going to give him a test to see if he has a tumor on his pituitary gland which can cause insulin resistant diabetes......will let you know what we find out......keep this boy in your prayers, please!!!
