During the last couple of months I've done a bit of knitting.
The two green ones (colour looks grey-ish in pic #6) are made of a cone from which I knitted two others - I am happy to say I have just enough left to knit a hat. The wine coloured one is the second I made from an equal sized cone - so there are two left to do.
The smaller sized ones aIl have raglan sleeves, some short, some long; some are knitted by hand top down, others bottom up by machine.
The one in picture 2 is made from remnants of cotton from my mother's stash (she died in 2001 - so it's really old).
The one in picture 5 used up some of my own remnants. Did this one by hand, when I started on the sleeves I divided the remaining material in half using a very accurate scale and the only thing left when I finished was 12" of the pale blue.
They all go to charity once the lockdown is over.

Thank you. Using up remnants requires a bit of imagination and improvisation to get it right, which I love. But doing a 1-colour one is the thing to do when watching the telly.

Thank you. My grans who taught me to knit 'properly' (which was a lot more interesting than what we learned at school) would have loved to see me still doing it. Both knitted till the very end of their lives.

Gorgeous knitting! I’m afraid I can’t choose a favorite as they are all so nice. I like something about each one from the raglan set sleeves, crew neck, boat neck, stripe. Beautifully made and the receiver of each one will be warm inside & out, with your sweaters and generosity.

Wow you have been busy. Some children will be kept warm by your sweaters. Sadly I have not been knitting since my puppy Coco is in my life. She wants to chase the needle or the ball of yarn. One time I was not watching and she had gotten a ball out of my basket. I found her in the yard all tangled up having fun tossing it in the air. Keep it up.You do such nice work and there is much need.

Love all of these! and your clever use of remnants. These will make several folks happy. Wish I'd learned to knit in school. Learned to speak Spanish (very poorly) and play volleyball, but nothing as practical as knitting. LOL My gran sewed (never her knew her to knit) to the end of her days, but didn't have patience enough to teach me - had to learn on my own.

Thank you, but they are actually quite simple, stocking stitch mostly. I'd love to do something more intricate now and again, but to reduce my stash I prefer speed over challenging.

Wow! Martine, what fabulous work in all of these. My favourite one is the yellow one. There is always something about yellow that makes me smile and think of warm sunshine. What a lovely story about your mother's stash too in the striped jumper and I know whoever receives these will love them.

Thanks Chris. I must say I think of them a lot when I am knitting, how different their lives were. They both died in 1974, aged 85 and 90. That seemed a nice old age at the time. Now I don't think 80+ is old ...

I took another look. The bottom of the stack in gold looks like a V-neck. I also wanted to add 12 inches was cutting it close! You really got your money's worth out of that ball of yarn. The other stack shows the green better. Ashley has a sweater that she wears and was mine that I wore when I was young. It still looks great. No pills or fuzzzies. It has a kind of cowl neck. I wish I had a picture of me wearing it and then take one of her. It's an olive green.

You are right, I did a V-neck as a variation. I also did one with the button band in the raglan seam. It would not make a difference to the ones who eventually get them, but it made me happy to do each one a bit different.
