Hi cuties, I’ve been making a new bag for myself and a dress for Ophelie.

The dress just has to have the hem done. It has a full circular skirt and a pocket on both side seams, the pattern is Ta Dah, Festival dress.
I’ve used a Red work Poinsettia design from Amazing designs that I’ve had for years and made it into an appliqué. It sets off the bodice so nicely.
The bag is from Sweetpea and in blacks,Blue,Aqua and Turquoise. I’ve already got a black and white one and a red and black one. So I’m now covered for all my outfits. Love Chris

Beautiful dress, careful or Ophelie will take your bag to match her dress.

Ha ha ha! I thought that when I was making it and when I showed Mum, she said
"Ooh! that's just my colours!"

I am not familiar with this line of patterns. Is this an Australian pattern company?

Thanks Toogie, Ophelie loved it and of course I'll make one for Delphi. Jasana and Aqualina don't want a Christmas dress this year. Getting too old!
I love the bag too! Those colours are so rich!

The colors are fantastic and she'll love wearing it. I'm glad you made something for yourself too. I think sometimes we get so caught up in making things for others that we forget to treat ourselves as we too deserve wonderful things!

Gorgeous, Chris....My older great nieces are the same...they are "too old" for Aunt Kimmy dresses...so I guess it will just be the little ones this hear if I can find the fabric with all of this Covid mess going on...

I hear you Kim. Actually last night we had Dana and the kids here for dinner and Aqualina kept telling her Mum to look at the dress that Nanna has made for Ophelie. Yet, Ophelie told me that Aqualina didn't want any dresses from Nanna anymore as they were too "young" looking! Go figure, I think she is a bit upset that she said that now!!!!! Love Chris

Thanks Mary, and that's about the sum of it. I'm happy to do a bit of sewing every day too. I'm in the middle of making FSL Santa hats for my Christmas Tree this year. I love FSL too! Love Chris

Thanks Brenda, I am fortunate in that I'm fully retired, just looking after Mum one end and the grands the other end! If you are working, then you can only do sewing when you have some free time. Love Chris

Ya I just started back to work and time is limited. Have to wait 5 years to retire. Take care & Happy Stitching hugs Brenda Lea

Have a go Mary the bag is easy, just fiddly. You can also use just one piece of fabric and just put the stitches on it. Love Chris

Ah Chris is it just me growing older or is Ophelie growing into a young woman now? Gosh, seems like when I started posting when I could both her and Aqualine were 'little children'. It is a beautiful dress even I'd like to be able to wear-not this fat body in a million years unless it hid my belly though. I love it. Your purse is beautiful also. There is a lot of room in there girl--you could hide a lot of sewing projects in there with your get- aways...I've been carrying small purses but now my hands have trouble getting things out of cramped places. Will have to go back to some of my larger styles. Great job as always.

Thanks Sandy, the bag is a great pattern and you are right it holds lots of goodies!
Ophelie (Amy's daughter) is 10 (can you believe it) and will be 11 in April next year and is nearly as tall as me (5ft 2") She's actually about to my eyebrow level. Aqualina (Dana's younger daughter) is a fraction smaller than Ophelie and she'll be 11 in February. Our son Ben's oldest son Cooper is 11 in November and is a shortie, very petite more like his mother than our Ben.
Love Chris
