Some knitting for great grand child number 5 expected in January. I did sew on buttons after I took the picture. Forgot to do it again and now they are with the future mom.

Great work! I like the simplicity of the sweaters and love the cables in the hats. Mum-to-be will be very pleased.
I still have one sock my grandmother knitted for my youngest. I had not told her I was pregnant but she had seen it when I visited her. She died 12 days later and was not able to finish the pair.

Oh that is heartbreaking and wonderful all at the same time! Mom's and grandmothers know! I am so glad you kept it. I hope you share that story often. Tears of joy and sorrow too are good for the soul.
I love this story because it reminded me of the tablecloth my mother had started to hand embroider. I never finished it. The needle and thread placed into the material stayed there just like she had left it. She was 56 when she died.
