Not that long Angie. It is the start of the rainy season in Johannesburg so the blooms suffer. The flowers make a purple carpet along the road. Unfortunately they are water guzzlers and we are not allowed to plant them any more.

Yes, summer is on its way here. Just taken the dog for a walk and the beaches are getting quite busy.

We have a town here in Australia that is dedicated to these beautiful Jacaranda trees it's called Grafton. If you get a chance have a look on the internet for Grafton Jacaranda Festival and you'll see some magnificent trees like Sarah's shown above.
I've got one in my front garden which has a Wisteria wrapped around it (that finished blooming this month October) and now the Jacaranda is blooming. Love Chris

Jacarandas are so beautiful! I have seen many in Florida. The wait for them to bloom was worth it. Thank you for sharing and giving me a great memory.

They are also flowering here in Sth Aust but I suffer badly when they are in bloom even though I think they are beautiful and love the colour.
