Do you do trial stitchouts? My first embroidery friend did all his trials on unbleached muslin. After he got a big pile of them, he started sewing them together side by side and made seasonal mantel scarves for the four fireplaces in his old house. It was such fun to visit at different times of the year and tour the designs. His had pleats and were a bit formal, but would also be beautiful laced together with ribbons.

If I buy a design from someone who I have bought many from and they always stitch out good, then no but from someone for the first time yes.
