Has anyone made a prayer pocket? I was wondering if there is any stabilizer inside of them? I saw a video, but it was just fabric which seem to me would not hold up very well.

Hi Penny, no I've never made a prayer pocket, but I would definitely have some sort of stabiliser in it. Or put in some Bosal InR form, it's a foam like stabiliser. The picture below is what I use, but I'm sure there are other brands similar. You can get this as a single or double sided adhesive where you iron it on and it makes it more stable. Love Chris

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe a piece of felt.

It may be a dumb question, but what is a prayer pocket?

They are a small little square with a very small cross inside. When you feel the pocket, you feel the cross. The photo above has the words/explanation better than what can describe.

Hi Martine and Caroline, these are just a couple of little examples of a prayer pocket. There are lots of them on the Internet. Love Chris

I have made a few that I did ITH and put Warm & Natural batting inside...I think they need something more than just stabilizer...I have also used Sew Fab Foam by Floriani for a couple as well...and included some ITH quilting when they were made...
