Hi and welcome. I know nothing about your machine but I’m sure others do. What I will say about machine embroidery is the machines are pretty tough and I have used them with children. I would suggest that you get some fabric and just have a play stitching out just to find out how the machine works.
Your lucky your only an hour from your dealer mine is 3 each way. Cute embroidery covers the world so you should get some answers. Machine embroidery is fun once you get the hang of it. Asterixsew in the UK

I am Happy for you! Hus machines are really good, but when they need attention, you have to send to factory and wait a few weeks or so for the return. I started with a Hus, Rose, and it was a workhorse. But it only had a 4x4 hoop as the largest. When it needed help, sent it off to factory and went and got a used Brother with a 5x7 hoop and am still using it!. I started emb in 2003. And as most peoples, I Love It!!... Welcome to Cute... Congrats on your machine. and I know just how overwhelmed you are. I was also when I started. I have a different machine, but I can tell you what I did. I pulled out the manual and started reading while in front of the machine. I tried out 1 of the designs in the machine, then another and another to get comfy. Then I tried moving on to designs on the internet. I used different types of fabric and stabilizer and hooped and hooped. In other words, I played until I felt comfy. There are great websites like Embroidery Library who have great tutorials on hooping and stabilizers. And more than likely, Youtube will have tutorials on your machine. Don't be afraid. Our machines are quite sturdy. And we all make mistakes. I'm sure someone will come along who can help you with your machine. Be sure to post pictures of your machine embroidery creations in the Projects section.

I felt the same way when I got my first embroidery machine. It intimated me. It stayed in the box a few days and a friend came over and said you can do this. She didn’t machine emb either and I know more about electronics than her, and I know nothing-lol
We got it out and embroidered a rose all one color. Green. Lol - I have been hooked ever since.
I don’t have your machine but may can help. What do you need to know? If it’s about which stabilizers you use or a lot of how-to you can find on embroiderylibrary.com. Look in their header for help or might say Emb101. Also can you google your machine model and see if their are You tube videos to help you?

Yep. That's happened to me too. I hope you have the manual that shows you what to do. First thing is to find in the manual where it tells you how to set the machine up for sewing or for ME. Most machines use a different bobbin for this. Does you machine have designs in it that you can use? Find a design that looks simple and not a lot of colors of thread. If it doesn't have designs in the machine, find a design that you like, Cute has lots of them. Do you know anyone who does ME? It doesn't matter that they don't have the same machine as you, but the process in stitching a design is basically the same...find a design, gather the thread colors needed, set up the machine for ME, use the right hoop size, hoop fabric and stabilizer. If you don't have a manual, someone with that machine will have to give you advice about setting it up.

Also, do you have thread for machine embroidery?

My Ruby is not my first machine so I can understand how intimidated you feel when facing it. So many decisions to make. What type of blanket are you wishing to monogram?

I bought a used Husqvarna Viking and the woman that sold it to me said she would teach me because she bought a brand new machine! 3 weeks later she passed and i am clueless! I have tried to do some towels and I ruined them and then I tried to do some mug rugs because i love them and my pre wound bobbin became a ball of a snagged mess! I also bought Florini software for it and my husband is so mad because my machine is a paperweight! I come on every night just to admire every ones work but I am so upset because i can do literally NOTHING on my machine!

I think at one point I found a website of Ruby users. As I had another brand, I didn't stick around long, but it had lots of advice for little issues with the machine.

You have good suggestions. Be sure to start with something easy. For a fleece blanket, do a test run with a small piece of fleece you don't need-- something like a piece that is 1 foot square will help you check the design and see how it works with the fabric. Be sure to use the right stabilizer for the fabric and design.

I have two of the Husqvarna Viking machines....go into You Tube and type in how to use. There is some good help there. Are you trying to use the built in lettering?

It must have come with a manuel - my Ruby did and I read it cover to cover. I got a 10% discount if I did not have the lessons they offered which I gladly accepted as the dealer was a two hours drive from where I live.
The Husqvarna site has the manuals for all models to download and the videos if you need to see rather than read. Take the time to practice. It's not as difficult as you think.
As for embroidery, start with a fabric that's easy to hoop, not one that would show hoop marks like fleece or velvet. Always test on a remnant first.

I do not know anything about Husqvarna machines so I am sorry I can help you...But, I do know that there are many YouTube videos available and also you should join a Facebook group that is for Husqvarna machine users...there is always lots of help on social media sites... Just want to say welcome to Cute. I do not know anything about your machine since I mainly use brother or Baby Lock. Having bought a used machine in 2008 that came with no help I was lost. Most of my knowledge came from reading or asking questions here on Cute. Remember that there is no question too silly. We all started new. Ask and someone will come along with an answer most of the time.
