Good morning Cuties, Trev and I are down in Tasmania - at last. Only the third time we’ve tried to get here due to the Corona pandemic. We both were tested for the disease and are negative. Newcastle hasn’t had corona so we’ve been very fortunate. Coming through airports with everyone wearing masks was great to see. Launceston airport staff were very thorough asking everyone all sorts of questions relating to where we were from, Sydney was superb too.
We’ve bought the hot weather with us we think, as it’s quite hot here, just like home!!
We’ve done a lot of walking and early this morning at 6.30 we went up the Cataract Gorge, a really pretty place. Once at the top there was an amazing thicket of very rare fir 🌲 trees and s beautifully quaint tea house:restaurant. Of course Launceston was inhabited first by the English and their love of English trees abound down here. Elms, Oaks, Fir trees are just stunning.
We’re off on a 2 hour river cruise today at 1.30 on the Tamar river and tomorrow to the magnificent Bridestowe Lavender farm - that’s a 4 hour return trip and they collect us from our motel and bring us back - that’s great service. Off to Hobart on Friday till next Wednesday, then home.

We have such a diverse range of countryside down here. We have so many deserts, plains, trees, rain-forests that are 180 million years old (they are in Queensland), vine yards, mountain ranges and of course our amazing animals and flora. I love seeing other Cuties countries, love Chris
One of my dear friends that we were going to see down here in Launceston, lives just 40 mins away, can't see us as they are in lock-down after visiting their daughter in Sydney. Sydney was in a high risk zone and anyone visiting in certain suburbs, once they returned home, has had to self quarantine and that's what Maree and Peter are doing. Never mind maybe next time we come here we can catch up. Love Chris
Tassie is one of our favourite places to visit ,we've been 3 times over the years, usually on fly/drive 2 week stays. We wanted to go down again this year in our motor home and stay a couple months, but I think it may be out of the question this year as well.
Enjoy!!
