The .rar extension is just another kind of compression to a file like zip. I think you can decompress it with a regular winzip but not sure. Flower and XoXo

Yes, Winzip will open .rar files - in fact in my version of winzip, it has .rar as the default! Love

rar is the same as zip. You need to download the file to be able to unzip

The .rar files are compressed files, a bit like zip files. You need the WinRar software to open them. You can download in french WinrRar on the site: http://www.rarlab.com/rar/wrar342fr.exe
WinRar is a shareware, this means you can download it and install it free of charge during a preiod of time. Then you will need to decide if you buy it or not. I do not have a link for WinRAr in english but I am sure you could find it easily with the enclosed information... Pat

And, now would you expect anything else? Glad you got your answer. Just got on after a long day, and then having to fix dinner - I would have rather just not eat, but hubby likes food at least once a day. Have a good evening.

Eric, if you go to the link below you will find it is for FREE WinRAR download. Go to the right side of page and you will see the best links there under
Other popular File Compression downloads
WinRAR
269,039 downloads
I can highly recommend it, better/easier than WinZip but i use both depending on what i'm doing. WinZip often won't open WinRAR files but WinRar will open winZip files.
hnr, M

PS, if you get one that 'expires' after so many days you just keep hitting the "USE Evaluation Version" on the opening Flash Screen but be aware the tab can change places on the screen to trick you into hitting the "Register NOW" tab LOL!
