Hi Cuties, and so it begins!!! Amy and Steve had the hole dug out yesterday for their pool. Stunning hot day for it and today it’s raining! I tell you what this summer has been really weird weather wise. La Niña is certainly making herself known. Love Chris
P.S. I heard Steve mention the other day that the builder says they should be in their new home by CHRISTMAS!!!!! Aaagghhh!

Wow, Christmas is a long way off! Does that seem a little long to you? Our big house was started in July (many years ago) and we were completely moved in by November. Maybe, because of Covid, things will take a little longer? I bet they are excited!

It does, that's why I put all those exclamation marks. I hope it takes quicker than that Laura. They are very excited about the whole process. Love Chris

Will the pool be finished while the weather is still right for swimming?

No Betsey, they won't be able to swim in there until the house is finished and the property is completely safe to be on. Too many dangerous objects around when building starts. Love Chris

That is slow,in1994 we moved out of our house on 1st August & moved back in 2 weeks before Christmas 1994.The house was demolished & then there was a 6 week delay because someone forgot to deliver the 60 ton of soil fill to level the site for the slab & therefore we went down the building queue. There was a drought & only it only rained on 4 days & 2 days were on the weekend.Everything was finished except the driveway & path which was done the next month

I'm hoping their Architect was joking. It's a "Bespoke House" Judy and is a one-of-a-kind dwelling that meets the individual needs and tastes of the client and the particular demands of the site. Presenting a welcome alternative to look-alike houses, the resulting dwellings are bespoke- combining the vision of the client with the skill of a master architect." I can't wait to go have a look at the pool myself. Steve said they will be putting the footings in next week to begin on the house. Love Chris

I watch a show called 100 day dream home and it is amazing how fast they build a house. They are in Florida and use cement bocks to build the outside walls and it is on a slab. The roofs are huge and never a 2nd floor. How ever long it takes, I'm sure it will be gorgeous!

Hi Chris, yes, I know about that. We have a home building company here in NSW called McDonald Jones Homes (Steve used to work for them) and they built a home in 21 days for a charity. So I'm hoping for Amy and Steve's sake that their home will go up quickly. Love Chris

Well, they look thrilled in that photo, Chris! Christmas, wow, that does seam like a long time...hopefully, it will not really take that long. I know that you all will love having the pool, and the kids are at a great age to really enjoy it. Pools are quite common here on Southern California...

HI Kim, yes, pools re everywhere in Australia as we have such hot summers and Autumns and Springs for that fact. I'm hoping that they are out sooner too., They are no trouble, but it just makes my home 'messy'!!!! Love Chris
