Dear Carolyn, I could do it but I warn you that this project is really time consuming. There are many color changes and you can sort only the first few colours. Also, if you want to change the colours of each design with colours of you choice, like I did, that's time consuming as well. The preparation takes some time before you can start stitching out. Thank you Patti. I have arranged all the designs and made all the colour changes in my software. When the complete doily/table mat layout was done and saved on my hard disk, I saved the file on the flash drive as well and inserted it in my embroidery machine, ready to stitch my project out. I print the template (one template only) of the whole doily to get the full image of the project and most importantly the thread colour list which helps me to keep track of the thread colours I have used and the colours I need next. This is what I did. I don't understand why you need to print templates to arrange the designs and have to have "trial and errors". I don't have to have trial and errors, my machine stitches all the designs i have placed in my file, in the same order I had placed them. Maybe there is something that I missed from your description. Thank you, Penny. I made this project because i liked the designs and it was a challenge for me. Usually I like floral designs for my projects but this time I had animals and different type of floral designs. The challenge has been bigger than I expected but I have enjoyed making this project. First I used the full design that you see on the right-hand side of my doily, then I have hand-picked all the individual designs that you see from the middle to the left-hand side of the doily. I have changed the colors of almost every design, including those of the right-hand side.which were sorted and a little more difficult. Hugs, Lidia
