One of my addictions is receiving a sewing magazine each month which comes with two patterns. The patterns are not of my choice and I seem to sew garments less and less. These 'free' patterns seem to mount up and I have had a pile of them. Town has a excellent swapping and giving away weekly newsletter and I offered patterns a few weeks ago. One woman had replied and forgotten to come but turned up today with two small girls. I have just had a great conversation with a lovely 9 year old who has taken up dressmaking and was so enthusiastic about what she was making. It was totally delightful chatting to her and passing on some of the patterns. Its really uplifting seeing that there are young people out there who are taking up sewing and making clothes. This lass was wearing a hat she had knitted from her own design and had made mum leggings. She has left me with a totally warm feeling and we hope to meet again.
