Hi gals, what a wonderful day it was yesterday in Sydney. The Opera was fantastic Trev’s comment was “ Now, I know why I haven’t been to the Opera”. He’s not a fan.

It was a stunning day and there were 2 weddings having photos on the steps to The Opera House.
1. Me at base of steps holding programme
2. Sydney Harbour bridge
3. Trev and I in masks (everyone had to wear them)

Hi Sandy, no we didn't go there. I didn't know it was at the harbour. We did go to the British Lolly Shop thought near the Rocks area. We walked our little feet off over the 2 days. Love Chris

Glad your having fun and enjoying yourselves. Sadly I am still in lockdown and there is no choice other than being at home apart from food shopping so its lovely to see your pictures. Your pictures of the Opera House reminded me of a friend who went from the UK for the opening ceremony. She had an amazing time.

Wow!Caroline, that would have been something to see. I was living in Adelaide back in October 1973, when it opened, so never got to see it. Back in those days most people stayed in their own states. My generation (the baby-boomers) were the first to leave their parental homes and go interstate. Love Chris

I'm so delighted to hear you are having a wonderful time in Sydney. I wish we could go back, there was so much we saw but so much we missed. I remember seeing news segments on the opening of the Opera House. It was and still is one of the most beautiful buildings ever constructed.

Hi Karen, I don't disagree with you re the Opera House building it is spectacular and with the glistening harbour behind it it really makes a powerful statement. We had a wonderful time away thanks. Love Chris

Glad you enjoyed the Opera House.Hope the seats are more comfortable than they were in the 70's,if you lifted your bottom to far off the seat ,the seat snapped shut .
Just as well the masks were compulsory seeing that the first case of covid in 55 days was detected on the weekend in Sydney.

Hi Judy, yes we did enjoy the Opera and guess what, the chairs are still uncomfortable and shut if you aren't quick enough. I can't believe the seating in there, all the rows go right through from left to right etc with no break in the middle. Thank goodness we were on the end of a row. We left Sydney yesterday in that torrential rain and heard when we got home that one of the Quarantine hotel staff members contracted Covid19.
"NSW Health was notified late last night of a new case of COVID-19 in a person who works at two Sydney hotels which provide hotel quarantine for returned travellers".
Love Chris
