It's prom time for my granddaughter. Of course she wants Grandma Suzie to hem her gown. It is very red and the bodice lace is elaborate and beautiful. The bottom hem had a train, she wanted straight hem. She will wear a black mask so Grandma made FSL to applique on the mask. The embroidery thread matched almost perfectly. She will pick up in a couple of days. I spent about 10 hours working on the dress. Oh the things we do for the grands. I hope she likes the finished projects. I also made her mothers wedding dress in a weekend, but thats another story. Hugs and flowers to all, Suzanna

You are so so right the things we do for grands. Each time we step up to do something for our Grands we make another treasured memory for both ourselves and them. One day they will be saying my 'Grandma ...... (Suzie in this case) came to the rescue. Plus you should have seen the mask we had to wear and she made it complement my dress. The pictures don't do it justice. Congratulations on a job beautifully done.

Gramma, you are an angel. To shorten a dress of this type of fabric is difficult enough, but converting a train to a straight hem is over the top. I hope your granddaughter knows what a gem she has in you. Well done!

That a beautiful dress and fits her so beautifully. Her mask will be dressed up beautifully too with that lace. I have done my share of hemming formal wear and said no more. Well, if my last granddaughter gets to this stage I'd have to say yes I'd do it. That silky fabric and sheers is too much for me to want to handle anymore. I hope your granddaughter keeps this forever. So beautiful.
