Yes I have 3, they are all now 12 years old. 2 we got from our local SPCA and the other one we rescued off a wheel of a motor vehicle at a shopping centre. She was just a little ball of fluff.

We thought about the Maine Coon too. We read they are good hunters as one of their characteristics. I think they are just beautiful and their fur and faces are incredible. But.. we have two parrots and weren't sure that would be a good combination. With our other kitties the parrots just told them "I have a beak and I'm not afraid to use it." But those kitties weren't known for being good hunters. A squirrel got in the house and the two siamese hid under the bed, and the Ragdoll was chasing it all over. How does your Maine Coon play? How big is he/she?

Unfortunately my Ginger got sick and stopped growing at five months old. After the castration her trembling has decreased, but what disease she has, I do not know despite four vets and two veterinary clinics. She is weekly on the scale, because she constantly loses weight (I would like to have the problem) and gets several extra treats to keep her weight (2.5 kg) reasonably. I had before only "normal" shorthaired cats and my beloved BKH, in any case this will remain my only longhaired cat.... my vacuum cleaner fights with her hair. The little one is cute as a button and gets along with my old cat who couldn't stay alone. In the house I feel like I have a dog, she is always by my side and luckily calmer, now she is one and a half years old, you see her at my embroideries.

She is a mix of Mainecoon and scottich fold, in our country Mainecoons are bred huge (one meter long and 10 kg) and often have a heart defect and don't grow old, that's why I didn't choose a purebred cat ..... how to do it...is wrong, and still have a sick kitten.

OH no, I am so sorry she has been so sick. I think there are lots of defects in hybrid cats. Ragdoll get kidney disease. We are going to do all we can to make sure they drink lots of water. It is heart breaking to lose our babies.
