Was asked by my Grand Daughter to make a swim suit for her 8 month old. He is having swimming lessons at an inside pool and was growing out of the one she had very fast. Being Winter here she couldn't find any in the shops.

So this is what I came up with the one piece Orange is a combination of 2 patterns I drafted together. The 2 Piece is just Top from one pattern and bottom from another Hubby said better make a 2 piece one as the bub is growing so fast.
It was also hard to find much around in Lycra so I got creative and did Sublimation printing on the White Lycra and also just a small amount on the Yellow. Was trying to not let it look home made. Then I made a carry bag out of a white polyester shower curtain to carry the wet things in.
She was very happy with the results. As it is Winter this will work but won't be able to be used in the Summer as it is not UV rated Lycra.
Thanks for looking.

Great work Barb, I love everything. I know what you mean about the UV stuff, our Ophelie and Delphi go to swimming squad every Thursday in a heated pool and their bathers get ruined from all the chlorine. They much prefer swimming in the ocean shallows. I notice a lot of our bathers these days are made from chlorine and UV ray resistant material, better than our bathers from years gone by!!! Love Chris

You did a fabulous job with both the cute suit and the bag too. You were very clever and I hope are already designing the next suit.

Perfect, Barb...no one would know they were "homemade" unless you told them...

Wonderful stitching. It does not look homemade at all.
