As some of you have noticed I have been AWOL for some time. I really must thank Linda for taking over the birthdays these last 3 months. Thank you my birthday friend.

I really hate talking about what we have all been through this last year or so. We have all suffered in our different ways.
Towards the end of last year, overnight I developed the most horrible patches all over my body. We were actually taking a break as the twins and parents came to see us. I first thought is was something like bed bugs. After Christmas I went to see a dermatologist who pronounced I had a variant of eczema. It has been horrible, mainly attacking my hands and feet.
In March my daughter bought the twins down to see us. I knew that something was amiss and on the first evening when the twins were in bed she told us that my sil, Paul had accepted a job in England and that they would be emigrating at the end of the year. I know that they are doing the right thing as SA is not the best place for the future. This last Sunday Charlotte phoned to say they were leaving end July. There is so much going on in their lives. Two dogs and cat will go with them and all their worldly possessions.
We probably will not see them again as Covid has struck again here in SA, especially in Johannesburg, where they live. We still have not been vaccinated and being in our late seventies, loath to risk our health.
For the first time ever I feel trapped. Cannot visit Emma and Josh in Dubai and now Charlotte will be overseas as well. Once we can fly again all will be well.
As I look on Cute as a second family I thought I would let you all know the reason for my silence lately.
I hope you are all taking care of yourselves during this difficult time.

My heart goes out to you. I wish I could give you real hugs and have you come visit me. But I really do care and have been paying attention to what is going on around this crazy world. I'm so glad you spoke up and told us what is going on with you because I am sure there are many others who feel as you do. Please make the decision on the vaccine that is right for you. I too am very concerned about the issues with it after having been so sick with Covid viral pneumonia. It is not easy living in this world, but we are all doing the best we can. So wrap yourself up in the many cyber hugs that are coming your way.

We, in the USA can honestly say that we are so very fortunate to be able to get vaccinated. It isn't fair that you haven't been able to. But, until you can, you must keep yourselves safe - that is number one! Too many have succumbed to this horrid sickness - the numbers are so hard to imagine. Though you know that you will see your dear children and their families again, but it must feel like a blow not to be able to and it is just not fair that you have to wait. I am sending you prayers, hugs and love and want to let you know that I understand your feelings. I don't ever want to forget that feeling of isolation that my hubby and I felt for over a year. It was too consuming. I hope your doctor is able to help you with the eczema - has it gotten better since seeing the doctor? Pray, hugs and love to you! Laura

Sarah, you have been through a LOT in such a short time, a time that probably feels really long. Things are going to get better, and all of the changes won't seem so daunting. God is with you, even through the hard times, as well as the good times. May God bless you and you fill you with his presence and His loving arms around you.

Welcome back Sarah, sorry to hear of your health problems. I braved going for my first Covid Jab on Monday this week. I must say they were very efficient and also very pleasant. We are not on Medical Aid, so registered on the Government site. Have they started doing the Vaccines down your way? A huge big cyber hug for you, Love and Hugs from Maureen

Thank you Maureen. We have the facilities here but there is not enough vaccine. I think there will be more in the next couple of days. I also registered on the Government site on the first day of registration.

Hello my dear friend, I know what you are going through. Thanks for our lovely conversations and I know things look tough at the moment, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel and we will all get through this. We are all living in a different world and nothing will ever be the same again. Even travelling is such a job these days.
I pray that once this pandemic is under more control that you get to visit Emma and Josh and of course your grands in England. I think Paul is doing the right thing for the family. It's such a huge decision to emigrate, but you have to think of your family first. Much love and hugs to you Sarah, love Chris

Thank you Chris. I know in my heart they are doing the right thing. Charlotte is full of guilt about me but that is life.
We will be fine, just need the vaccine.

Sarah, take care and hold on ! I'm sure that soon everything will become better again. But do remember that even when you have a vaccine, it does not protect 100 %. So still some caution needs to be taken into account.
And I needed I can prolong the posts of the birhdays.. Just let me know.

Sarah, I'm so sorry to hear of your health problems, but even more sorry to hear of your family situation. I can't imagine being so isolated from my children. Knowing that they are doing the right thing for their family is little consolation to your breaking heart. I'm praying for you and your new physical problems, but especially your safety and health. Big hugs!

Thank you Jerrilyn. Each day is getting easier as I get used to the idea. The worst is wondering when I will see my girls and their families again.
