Hi gals, just filling you in on my sister Jewl's partner, Charles.
Jewls finally managed to get home to Tumby Bay, which took her 2 days. She drove from Newcastle to Warrawong on the Darling (935km - about a 10 hour drive) and stayed there on Wednesday evening and as she had received a call from the doctor at 1.00am in the morning she couldn't sleep properly so she left at 6.15am and drove all the way to Trumby Bay (907km about 9 and 3/4 hours) yesterday (Thursday).
I wrote to her about half an hour ago asking if she had been to see Charles, but she hadn't.
The Head of Nursing from the Tumby Bay Hospital (where Charles has been staying in respite, whilst she was up here looking after Mum) had rung her to say Charles has severe sepsis. She also checked with SA Health and advised that she should submit an End-of-Life Health Exemption Form (through the South Australian Police) so she can be with Charles in full PPE gear over the weekend if the worst scenario unfolds."
My heart is aching for her as she has so much on her mind and I'm not feeling too confident about Charles' prognosis. My Dad got sepsis and he didn't last long once he got that.
Please keep Jewls (Julie is her real name) and Charles in your prayers for me. I know she doesn't believe in God, but she knows I do and she knows I have lots of friends who are Christians. Jewls has been a marvellous carer. Love Chris
Sepsis was what took my Husband last month. I am sure the Hospital are keeping him comfortable but that doesn't help the pain she must be going through.
Hope she can get to visit him as much as she wants and needs to as things change so quickly. She must be exhausted from all that driving as well hopefully they don't transfer him to Adelaide as that would make it more difficult for her.
Saying a prayer for her and hoping she gets a good outcome.
