My beautiful boy Keenu has been to the vet today with a disc problem in his back - typical for pekingese to have this. I was convinced it was really serious. It was just a flare up. He has to have rest and no walks for 3 days. I am just so relieved .

It has, thank you. He is about 12 years - difficult to know as he is a rescue.

He does look comforable in his little basket. My childhood dog was a pekingese. My corgi, Gummybear, had a disc problem. She was on Tramdol for several years. What really made the back better was that she got monthly acupuncture treatments. It took a couple of years, but eventually her pain went away. Maybe there is a vet trained in acupuncture in your area. It is a specialty for dogs.
