A very sad day yesterday for my daughter Emma in Dubai. Her beautiful horse Blue, had to be euthanized at his stable in Johannesburg. He had developed cancer and her vet phoned her to say his time had come. She is completely devastated. Blue was born 20 years ago and Emma was present a his birth. The last 18 months, my grandson Jared has been riding him. Jared is equally devastated. You will be sorely missed big Blue. RIP.

What a beautiful horse. I remember years ago, you posting a picture of Emma riding Blue and I thought what a magnificent animal! His passing must make all of you so very sad - I am so sorry! Loads of hugs, Laura

Thank you Cuties for your words. I still cannot believe he is gone. When Emma was about 2 years old we were on holiday in England. We had gone to Weston Supermare for the day and she begged for a ride on a donkey. That was the beginning of her love for horses.

He was a beautiful horse. I can't stop looking at his picture. I can imagine how much Emma is going to miss him. We do not want our animal buddies to suffer but the decision to put them down is such a hard one. Hugs for Emma and all that miss Blue

Thank you Chris. Both Joshua and Jared have grown up with horses but neither of them were interested in riding. It has only been during Covid that Jared has been riding Blue.

My friend who has horses once described them as big dogs. I'm sorry that you have lost Blue as I'm sure he was considered a member of your family. Sometimes doing the right thing is very stressful, at the same time you know what is best for Blue. I'm hoping that your next horse will be wonderful and unique in his own way.
