Hello Cuties, I just finished my QOV for a Navy veteran. I’m not sure I’m happy with it but I hope the vet that gets it is. I was just going to make it with blue/gold and white but hubby wanted me to put ‘something’ red in it because it seemed like it needed a pick me up. I told him the only red in the panel was in the shield circles in the 4 corners. I had this flag fabric so I framed the panel and outer border with it. It came out bigger than I intended at 68x86. I usually try to make 60x 80 or 62x82. I found a scrap in our QOV scrap box and fussy cut the center Star square that had the emblem. Glad to find this that matched.
I’m going to have my bath and reward myself with a movie in bed. I have been watching a British drama ‘Call the Midwife’ but I think I’ve finished them all. I really enjoyed these shows set in 1950-1960. Maybe I can find something else that’s good. Any ideas? What have y’all seen that’s decent and worth watching?
Have a good night-❤️Toogie
This quilt is so nice does it really matter that it is a bit larger? I would say better bigger than smaller.
This will be cherished that's for sure.
I don't know if these British TV series are still available.Darling Buds of May.Upstairs Downstairs.Downton Abbey.Murdoch Mysteries a Canadian series which starts in the 1890's
Have you ever watched the McLeod's Daughters? It is an Australian film, and both my hubby and I really liked it. Hated to see it end. This is done with Star Wars themed material, as nursery is done in primary colors with Start Wars....Grandson and wife picked out the material.
I couldn’t find McLeods Daughters on Netflix but haven’t checked on Amazon Prime yet.
I am doing a radial quilt, and my issue of putting it together is to not have same colors or center design all in a row. I probably should have made the 36 squares that it called for. Hubby told me to just leave it alone, but that was not acceptable to me. This is done with star wars fabric as that is what grandson and wife picked out.
I do believe this is my first quilt with the Ohio Star. It’s a pretty star too.thanks!
