Hi Cuties, as you may have seen I love piecing quilt tops and Quilts of Valor gives me the opportunity to let my creative juices flow, while also honoring an armed service veteran. Cutie pennyhall was asking about info labels. I told her we have printed labels that we can fill in the information, when it’s time to award the veteran with their quilt. This also gives me the opportunity to use my embroidery machine. Those without emb machines fill in with a permanent marker. They each receive a certificate that is in a nice folder along with a copy, of the presentation speech. Everything, the labeled quilt and the folder with certificate, is then stored in a pillowcase made to match their quilt. (The red pillowcase & label is for the quilt ‘ These colors Don’t Run’ flag with eagle quilt top, I just made this week, too.)

And I wish I could personally thank each and every one who participates in this organization. Every one of you shares comfort and love to each veteran who receives a quilt. I did not realize there were so many other pieces that went along with the quilt. It is certainly a labor of love.

It’s love for sure and sometimes moved to tears with a lot of laughter as well. A great feeling to be involved in awarding these veterans with a quilt, who gave us so much more!
