Georgie and Ben started their new school today in England and their dad started his new job. Quite a big day for the family.

Wow, what a great picture! They are growing up so very fast!! Hope you have had a bunch of Facetime calls with them! Hope their first day went well (as well as their dad's first day)! Thanks for sharing - I know how hard it is to be so far away - sending you loads of hugs!! Laura

You know how I feel Laura. I am just relieved they are out of isolation. Although they are now in a very small flat. Luckily the weather has been good. Thank you for your concern

I can't believe how grown up they both look....gosh, Sarah, where did the time go? So glad they are settling in so well. I know how difficult it is for you and Klaus to be so far from them...but seeing how well they are should give you both some comfort... I know you will be going to visit them as soon as you are able to...

Children are just so adaptable. They have been so good this last month. We will be on the first plane that we possibly can.

What a beautiful picture Sarah and thanks for sharing it. Must have been a quiet day for Charlotte. New beginnings for all. Lots for you to hear about.

Caroline, thank you so much for your support.. lovely long chat yesterday. Heard all about the delicious lunch they had eaten at school. I think they are finding the day quite long. In SA they had to be at school by 7.30. and left at 2.00. So very different.

They look so happy and relaxed. I wish the whole family well on their new venture. And I hope that you and your husband get to visit them soon.

Thank you Karen. Georgie was incredibly nervous and a bit tearful. She messaged me yesterday evening and she was so full of chat.

Wow!, they are looking so good and growing up to be tall. I hope you and Klaus are getting lots of face-timing, or Skype etc.
Georgie (and Ben) is the same age as Ophelie I think. Have they begun, High school or are they still in Primary school Sarah?
I pray that their Dad loves his new job and that Charlotte is settling in to life in a different country. Love Chris

Thank you Chris for your post. They started a year late in SA so they are still in primary. The new school takes them right through to A levels. I do so hope that Ben manages, having been at a special school in SA. They are 13 years in November.
Charlotte is having very up and down days. Had a long chat with her yesterday. They have put an offer in on a house and she is seeing 2 houses today. They have bought a fully electric car so that has been a bit of a novelty. After dropping the children at school Charlotte took herself off to the shops and then visited mum in law. Anything to get out of a very cramped rented flat.

Hi Sarah, I thought they were the same age as Ophelie, but she won't be 12 till next April. I'm so glad to read that things are going so well for the whole family. I hope they find a home soon. I know what they must feel like in a cramped flat. We are finding it so squeezy here with our tribe, but they will be moving out in October, we hope! So Trev and I will be giving our home a complete clean out! Love Chris

Hard to believe Ben and Georgie are this big! How did the first day go? I guess they speak English well then.

We all only speak English, although my husband is German. They will be learning French at school.

They are both very nice looking. You probably have concerns , especially about Ben’s adjusting, but Georgie seems to be outgoing so should do well. I love her curls! I hope they can settle into their new home soon.

We all wonder how Ben will do, especially as he has only been to a special needs school. Georgie is actually very shy but she can certainly stand up for herself.

Thank you Angie. I am sure that all will be well once they have found a house and can stop living out of suitcases.
