Hello Cuties, this is just a tote for Gus’s sheet music and his music books. He is starting piano lessons this coming week. He plays the very beginning of the Adam’s Family by ear. He is five! -Lol- Gus chose the fabric from my stash. Mom wanted a snap in center top, because books slide out of Nora’s piano bag I made her a few years ago. Mom also wanted it not as deep as Nora’s so side pieces finish at 2 1/2 inch wide. I lined this one and used cut-a-way stabilizer for body on all outer pieces. Because the seam allowances were so thick with the cutaway, I wasn’t able to turn in the edge of the ‘band’ so I serged or overlocked it. Shoulda changed my threads to white…oh well, his snap is blue too-lol

Nothing special but he will like it. He loves his train book sack I made last year. Have a nice night Cuties❤️Toogie

His other grandmother is the piano teacher and our daughter plays music so I hope he has inherited the natural talent. Nora has improved so much. She is more fluid with her notes. When she started she was choppy trying to read the music and she would look down at the keys. She doesn’t look too much anymore at the keys, keeps her eyes on the music book.

It is a very special bag because his grandmother made it specially for him. I think it's great that he already is showing a musical talent. I hope his piano lessons are everything and more than he hopes them to be.

Karen, Gus is such a fun sweet boy. He likes to joke with you or tease you (wonder who he gets that from). He uses his Benson doll to 'scare' me. I make like I'm scared of the dummie and he just laughs and teases me with him.

Of course it is special. Grandma made it. Tell Gus that he made a very good choice in fabric.

Gus did a great job of picking out the fabric - love the bag and he will be proud of it each time he reaches in it to pull our his music! Well done, Grandma!!! Hugs to you, Laura

If it makes him happy that’s all that matters, thanks.

Great tote but it has nothing to do with music.
Happy Stitching :-)

No it doesn’t have a musical theme fabric. It’s to hold his music, to take to lessons and it’s what he wanted. I offered to embroider something musical, on a solid piece or patch pocket like I did Nora, but he didn’t want that.

Perfect bag for a young boy. You know they will use it when they get to chose the fabric themselves.
He can proudly carry his music in this bag.

Lol- I had to get Ashley to measure Nora’s bag when she said to make Gus’s not as deep as Nora’s. Since I didn’t save the measurements or use a pattern I had no idea of sizes. I just try to please them. Thanks Chris
