Hello lovely people.......am home from Madison and my heart is soaring......This doc can't believe what this local guy did to me and has no idea why.......he has never, ever seen so much cadaver cartilage piled on top of each other and has not ever seen such thick nostrils from the grafts... He was appalled....and then hearing that I had C. diff right after this last surgery, he couldn't believe my positive attitude......He said fortunately this other doc didn't mess with the skin on the outside which is great for this reconstruction as the skin is very healthy and maleable. So, he will remove all the cadaver cartilage ,and even described how this is done, then open my nose on the outside on the skin that is between the nostrils, expose all the crap then harvest my own cartilage from my ear and repair the nasal valves, which by the way were not even close to being repaired by this other guy......he says he may have to take cartilage from both ears to do both sides so they are symetrical....I will have a cast on the outside and a silicone pad on the inside to press the outer nostril against the outside skin as I will have a significant void under the skin when he removes this cadaver stuff. He is 100% confident to improve what I have now and give me a better airway....as far as the pain I experience daily with the pressure of the bulky cartilage, he is hoping to at least improve that if he can't eliminate it as he won't know til he gets in there if I have nerve damage. The small discoloration spot I have by my nose is from muscle damage and would take a laser to improve that.....I am not so concerned about appearance right now....I just want to breathe and I feel I have the right person finally to get me there!!!!
