Hello Cuties, My 5 year old grandson just watched Disney's movie Up and fell in love with Russel, the boy wildnerness scout. He likes to dress like the character while watching the movie and asked for a badge like Russel holds. So, good ole granny made him some, but not just a badge but the shash to put them on as well. I know his hair needs brushing but it's early morning yet...

AWWWW, you just created a everlasting memory for your Grandson. Wonderful job and I must say I love his hair being mussed. Little boys have that look most of the time or my 2 did.;-)

I love the movie too. Being a Scout like Russel means that he earns badges for learning and doing all kinds of things. Scouts learn to cook, read the stars, maps, or even a compass. They learn all kinds of sports, how mechanical things work. They learn about economics, genealogy, coin/stamp/bugs/leaf collecting. I think there are well more than 100 badges that a Scout can earn. You could expand on that with him as he wants to be like Russel. Learning and exploring are so rewarding. I was a Cub Scout Leader and worked with 5-10 year old's. It was the most rewarding time of my life.
