Good morning/evening Cuties. It's just gone 5.30 here Thursday morning in Newcastle and it's going to be a hot day. I can't sleep as I have so many thoughts going through my head.
I am the Rector's Warden for my Church which is only 5 house away from my place and I think I've already told you that our Redhead Church closed on February 6th, well yesterday at our now newly formed East Lake Macquarie Parish it was decided to close my Church at Belmont North on 1st May.
As Warden I have to go through the church and list everything that is in it and document it in case people want to buy items. It's going to be a mammoth task as we have so much in there. Our Warden at Redhead church did her list last week and it's so sad to have to get rid of things that people have donated over the years. I know what it's going to be like at mine because I've done so many banners and hangings which I'll get returned back to me. There will be all the crockery and books, toys, organ, chairs, air conditioners, wall Crosses, everything you can think of.
We have our combined Annual General Meeting coming up on the 20th March and there's a lot to be done before that too.
We are hoping that the people who have left Redhead will come to ours for a few months and then once our church is closed we can all then go to the big church in Belmont. It's been a very sad time for us all.
On top of that I've got my Mother who has now got advanced Dementia. I am seriously thinking I'll have to move in there at night till morning, but I'm going to try and put it off till after we go to Adelaide at Easter.
Trev and I will take her with us to visit my Dad's brother and wife and then Mum and I will fly over to Port Lincoln on the west coast of South Australia on Good Friday. Whilst Mum and I visit my sister Jewls Trev is going to stay in Adelaide and catch up with all our old friends and go to football. On Easter Sunday he is catching up with his cousins and then will fly to Melbourne and Ben is going to fly down from Newcastle to meet him and they will go to the Australian Rules Football match on Easter Monday, then go to a famous Chinese Restaurant called the Flower Drum and go back home to Newcastle on the Tuesday.
In the meantime Mum and I will stay over in Tumby Bay where Jewls lives and be with her till the 22nd April.
When we get back home I think I'll move in to Mum's and just make sure she is eating right, At the moment she isn't and she doesn't like having 'all those people" coming into her home. We had 3 carers coming Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and she didn't like it, so we've cut it back to Friday. I'm sure most of you know about Dementia and it's been a difficult couple of years with her, but she doesn't want to leave her home and I have to abide by her wishes. I just hate seeing what it does to your loved ones. I've joined a couple of Dementia support groups but what with Covid so rife, personal contact has been cancelleld. So I've got some on line courses to do.
Sorry about the long winded story, but I just needed to vent, In the meantime, I'm not getting much sewing done. So if I'm absent from here you'll understand why.
Please keep us in your prayers, much love to you all. Love Chris
We had my mom with us for 17 years after my dad passed..the last year she had cancer and it went to her brain in the end. It was a very difficult time for the two of us as I have no siblings and we had no help.
These last two years have been very trying for us also as my husband has been diagnosed with a serious blood condition...so with that and covid we have been out of the loop too.
So you vent and so will I as it does help! Hugs, Nadyne
I am amazed that so many churches are closing in your area and I wonder if it had anything to do with Covid. I am not much help when it comes to inventory taking. I just pray that you will get help. I had to smile at your last comment about not getting too much sewing done. You have amazed me at the amount you produce considering all you have going on in your life.
With regard to our churches being sold in the Anglican Diocese it's because of the Sexual abuse by Priests and others in the Anglican Church over the past 30 years. So to help pay for it, our churches are being sold off!!!!!!
Ha ha ha, re the sewing comment, thanks. I've actually not done anything these past 2 weeks. I did do a couple of hand towels for my girlfriend that we visit up in the Hunter Valley and that's about it. I'll get back to it eventually as I want to use my new sewing machine! Love Chris
Sorry to hear your Mum is not doing well. It is a lot for you to care for. I send prayers that you can get help that she will be happy with.
I hope you all have a nice break at Easter. Take care. Hugs
I'm so sorry to hear your wonder mum is deteriorating so quickly. I pray you will all have a wonderful time away seeing family and friends and doing activities you enjoy. Make many happy memories to cherish.
You will certainly be in my prayers. Now rest up and finish the inventory so you can rest up again before your trip. And I hope it will help your Mum to have you stay with her at night.
I can't start the inventory till next week, so until then I've got my Italian ladies gathering every Friday to look forward to and of course having my morning coffee at my local Coffee shop just down the road from my home. Love Chris
I have already spoken to my girls about when I become a burden and it will be their decision to do what they think.
Look after yourself.
I'm so sorry your mom has dementia, I know from my mom having Alzheimers it is sooo hard. There were lots of hard times, but also some very sweet times too. I'll pray for you, your mom and family and also for your home church, your congregation and that you will be able to do all you ned to do. Be sure to take care of your own health. Only sew when you need the stress relief and just do tiny projects. We all love you, Chris. Hugs from freezing Colorado! jan. Maybe this pic will help you cool off.
I'll definitely be looking after myself and my church. I know I can do it with God's help.
With regard to the sales of the churches I've mentioned before somewhere on Cute it's due to the Redress for the Sexual abuse by the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle over the past 30 years!!!!!!!!!
It’s nice you’re getting away from the routines at home. I will be thinking of you having to cope with mum and her maybe being confused traveling. I hope Jewels can relieve some of your load while there. Have safe travels ❤️Toogie
