Hi Cuties, I've finally put on the binding, and the quilt is on my bed.
I got a call from Nicola (my quilter) last Wednesday saying it was ready. Her husband got Covid in December and she had to isolate with him. Then as she had quite a few quilts to do, she did too much and ended up damaging her elbows and had Cortisone injections in them, ouch!
I bought wide bias binding and sewed it on the four sides on Sunday afternoon. Monday I hand stitched one side down, Tuesday another side and I finished the other sides yesterday.
I placed it on my bed last night and it's quite heavy. I am hot blooded (don't laugh) and only sleep with a top sheet and a doona cover minus the doona inside. So halfway through the night, I kicked off the quilt along the right hand side.
I'm thinking I'll do what Carolyn has suggested in her post and make some pillowcases to accessorise the quilt. Love Chris

Wow! Your bed with the headboard and quilt really pops! It is worth every minute of hard work you have put into it. I think the pillows will also look lovely.

That is beautiful and 'ta-da' finished. Pillowcases would be a great accessory unless it is still large enough to tuck and fold over a pillow set but I like that idea.

Ha ha ha Suzanna, it would cost the earth to post it to you!! As you know at the moment down-under it's Autumn and the days are beginning to get cool. For instance it was 29C yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!! yuck, I don't like this weather. Can't wait for the real cool days, maybe late April or May! Love Chris

You have outdone yourself. It is absolutely beautiful. Just think how warm it will be in winter time. I just love it with the plain navy pillowcases. I think it need the contrast.

Hi Sarah, yes, I agree with you, but I'd like to try it out and of course I don't sleep on these pillows anyway. I have a pale blue satin pillowcase that I sleep on. I take these pillows off every night. Love Chris
