Hello Cuties! Today we were fortunate to call and wish my husband’s aunt a Happy Birthday! She is 104 years old! She has always had a pretty flower garden and a very good sense of humor. She is still a hoot!
Older Cuties may remember me telling about her giving up her driver’s license. She called her son and told him she was turning in her license. She said she just didn’t feel safe driving anymore. She was 100 then!-lol
April 18 would have been my dads 100th birthday if he had lived. He was born in 1922

This is my husband's aunt, his father, his family. Her name is Versie. I asked several of their family members to call and wish her a happy birthday. Last year when I called for her birthday I was #39 caller or something. She was counting the HB wishes she got!-lol

She has always loved her big family. Being the youngest living, of the first set of kids and raised by her stepmom and with the other set of 13 kids, she has plenty memories to share. She has outlived all of the 10 whole sister and brothers. There are only three left of her siblings from her dad’s second marriage. She said her stepmom was the only mom she ever knew, because she was only a year old when her mom Molly died (the lady in the top picture)

The picture in purple I didn’t take but she looks the same. She aged very well but always kept her weight in check. She loves to dance. There were tales when she was young of how well she could dance The Charleston. When we went one time and she was in her 90’s I asked jokingly if she could still dance. She was walking with a cane but caught the countertop with the other and tried a few steps-lol
A few years ago I drove to get her to come to our family reunion BBQ. Our oldest grandson loved talking to her and laughing with her telling her ‘stories’. She has always been full of life. She outlived her first husband, father to all 4 of her children. Outlived two daughters and her second husband.

She really does look good. She just underwent cataract surgery, but other than stiff joints that make it harder to walk, she is doing good. Along with burying 2 husbands and outliving 2 grown daughters, she is a cancer survivor. Been through a lot and seen so many changes over her century.

I will have to tell her about her internet wishes, but I don't think she understands that you can speak to anyone, around the world, like this.-lol She is amazing. When I asked her a few weeks ago about her age this year she replied, "Well Honey, if the good ole Lord's willing, I'll be 104 on the 21st". Evidently our 'good ole Lord' was willing, because she's still here.
