I just had a lumpectomy and 6 nodes taken out on June 10th! 5 out of 6 of my tests came back negative including all of the six nodes they took out! My breast surgeon took double the size of the tumor out to make sure she got all of the cancer out! The one marker that came back positive is HER 2! They ran the test on the initial biopsied piece and then tried testing the tumor after they took it out of me but those 2 tries came back inconclusive for HER 2! My question is did anyone else go through this and if so what treatment did you do afterwards? I am asking because 2 drs. gave me different treatments to do now! One dr. said follow with radiation only the other dr. said chemo and immunotherapy for over a year than radiation! I am 54 years old and I have already had 2 major back surgeries and kidney stone surgeries all the time they get too big for me to pass so out comes the horrific stints after each surgery! I have rescued pets for the last 22 years and the week before my surgery my cat passed away the day before my surgery my last beloved Lab mix had to be put down due to seizures that started a week before surgery and my last rescued bunny passed the week after my surgery, so I lost all 3 fur babies in a matter of 6 weeks! I appreciate any advice because I am so scared, and I do not know if my kidneys and stomach could even handle chemotherapy! Thanks in advance to anyone who could possibly help me with this treatment plan follow up nightmare! I am an emotional mess and so very lost without my children with fur!
I am sorry to read that you lost your 3 fur babies so close to one another as well.
I agree with Betsey, there are a lot of ladies on here who have gone through Breast cancer and I am sure once they see your post you will receive some great information and help. Love and cuddles, Chris
